Updated Again!! (5th January 2006) Another update as Violet have changed the location of the API again.
Updated!! (27th December 2006) As Violet have been tinkering with their servers and moved the location of their API here is an updated version of the Widget that uses the new API. I have also made a couple of minor changes, also note that to get a token you go here:
1. Added the ability to change the voice of the TTS message (via preferences).
2. Added preference to set the transparency of the "ear buttons"
Although I haven't finished my first project (the completion of this site) I started a second, a Yahoo Widget for the Nabaztag. This little widget will allow you to set the ear positions of your Nabaztag and allow you to send a message to your Nabaztag. The ears of the widget will also update if you move the ears on the real thing.
Still a few things to finish, like tidying the interface a bit and adding sound notification when the positions of the ears change.
You can download my widget here. This is the first version (now with a couple of updates) so there is a good chance there are a few undocumented features. The first thing you'll need to do after loading the widget is set the serial number and token, if you haven't a token go here, everything else should be obvious.
If you think its not working have a look at the bottom of the Nabaztag widget, you should notice that there is either a purple or orange "glow" from underneath. If it is orange then the widget hasn't got a response from the API, probably because it can't connect or because your serial and/or token are incorrect. If its purple then it should be working.
If you want to be able to move the ears on the real Nabaztag with the widget you will need to make sure you have checked the "Show ear buttons" option in the preferences, this will display the red and green dots (not pretty I know) which you can click on to set the positions.
If you have moved the ears on the Nabaztag and the widget hasn't updated then be a little more patient, this is probably because the widget hasn't refreshed. You can force a refresh by using the refresh option in the context menu. It is also possible to change the polling interval via the preferences.
Download v1.6 of the Nabaztag Widget.
